Artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities have advanced rapidly in creating realistic synthetic images, videos, and audio. Although such technologies have creative and educational potential, their misuse can inflict profound psychological harm. Psychiatry now faces a new category of digital trauma that warrants clinical attention and policy actions.
